Back to the workshop...William Morris is well known for the patterns that adorn walls and windows of homes around the world. Shunning the Victorian era's focus on industrialisation he opted to take inspiration from the English countryside and champion the hand crafted.
It's been said that he insisted on establishing a 'from scratch' understanding of process and in this workshop you'll experience the compelling nature of start-to-finish pattern design and printmaking with Rachel Moore from iPrintedThat.
Using your lino and tools you’ll work through a series of exercises experimenting with shape, line and repeat. Your prints will be inspired from images selected by the tutor and from your own still life objects.
For the workshop you will need:
- Your lino kit including cutting tools and baren
- Tracing paper or greaseproof paper
- Pencil
- Lino tile 10cm x 15cm (I know that sounds small but don't worry we're going to get lots of prints from it!)
- Block ink in your choice of colours
- Paper to print onto
- One or two pieces of interestingly shaped still life objects or flowers and foliage.
Tickets are non-refundable. Please let me know if you can't make it and I will try my best to transfer your booking to another workshop.
The workshop is delivered over Zoom. Please make sure that you have Zoom downloaded on your laptop / PC / tablet / phone prior to booking.
